Upon returning I saw the slackware init/boot screen was hanging at rc.hotplug. It actually wasn't really hanging, it was totally frozen. I really hadn'ta clue what went wrong so I tried a reboot and the same thing happened except it was hanging and not frozen.. WTF? I rebooted with the default slackware kernel

... become frozen. i believe the problem is the pcmcia kernal checking the irq of the keyboard and internal mouse [irq 12, if i found it right], seeing nothing there and therefore the computer doesn't recognize either, as after the pcmcia kernel runs, you go to login and i can't login, nor get a text boot screen.

Windows can't habdle large images
I can't get my computer to boot up in safe mode. I have tried hitting the F8 key and also tried hitting the Ctrl key as soon as I turn my computer on. All that happens is that my computer comes up to its normal boot screen with the cursor frozen and I have to manually shut the computer off.

Ubuntu on a Mac
Rebooted and got the 5.0 boot screen and then it gave me my new desktop, no icons, and my cursor was frozen. Funny thing I could evoke the menu changer that is new for Be. Every application was still in the menu, including all the ones I had downloaded and installed. But that was it. Nothing would invoke.

Either the screen border or the whole screen goes solid red and everything is frozen. Brutal Football: Game play starts but all the player sprites seem to be invisible! As far as the games go, I've already tried all the boot up configuration options with the 1200 boot screen and Zappo CD boot screen that I can.

Not so temporary 'Total Freeze'
After installing SP5 and FP2k server extensions on an NT4 box, it never completes the boot cycle. The box is now locked up at the login banner with the interlaced logo. The mouse moves, but it is catatonic and will not respond to keystrokes or mouse clicks. Even ctrl/alt/del does not work.
